Code 39 is by far the most popular bar code symbology. It’s used for ID,
inventory, and tracking. Why? Because the Code 39 character set includes both
letters and numbers, the input string can be of variable length, and the bar
code symbol itself can vary widely in height and width.
The C39Tools font package includes 27 different Code 39 fonts.
Switching between the various fonts allows you to change the width and
density of a bar code without changing its height. C39Tools also
includes an OCR-B font for the optional human-readable characters
above or below the bar code itself.
In Code 39, the asterisk is used as the start and stop bar, so to
encode AZALEA simply format *AZALEA* in one of the Code
39 fonts. The best way to learn more about C39Tools is to download the
free Windows demo font. Or read the
C39Tools documentation.
Printing from within another application? No problem, we’ve got plenty
of free sample code to get you started. Our sample code contains
functions and application add-in’s, including a
User Function Library (UFL) for Crystal Reports that integrate our
fonts into your applications. This eliminates the need for you to
write your own code from scratch.
