Interleaved 2 of 5 bar codes are used throughout the shipping industry. Interleaved 2 of 5 barcodes are found on the sides of corrugated boxes and are also used by the medical industry and in laboratories. Interleaved 2 of 5 has a numeric-only character set and is very compact because every pair of numbers is mapped to one character. This makes the symbols much denser than Code 39 in most cases.

The I2of5Tools font package includes two different fonts. One of the fonts is pre-narrowed to compensate for ink spread when the symbols are printed using silk screen or other non-offset processes.
