YOUR CHOICE: WINDOWS INSTALLER OR WISESCRIPT

It's your choice: create an installation using the technology that best fits your requirements: Windows Installer or WiseScript. Build either a fully-functional .MSI or WiseScript installation with a few mouse clicks. The complexities of Windows Installer are simplified and incorporated into the intuitive interface, so you can easily build an installation without understanding the complicated inner workings of Windows Installer. And WiseScript has been used in thousands of setup.exe installations with reliable results.

SUPPORT FOR NEW TECHNOLOGIES

We work closely with Microsoft® to integrate the latest technologies into our products, such as Microsoft Windows Vista, the Microsoft .NET Framework, 64-bit support, XML Web services, no-touch deployment and more. If you're developing applications for the .NET Framework, you can work directly in Visual Studio .NET or author in a standalone environment.

With our Microsoft Windows Vista support you get:

VIRTUALISATION

Reduce support costs and testing time by creating installations that enable applications to run in a virtualised state when used with Altiris Software Virtualisation Solution (SVS). Virtualised applications execute in their own virtual space, without impacting other applications or the base operating system. This dramatically decreases application conflicts and, in turn, reduces supports calls.

You can also install an application into a virtual layer for testing purposes. Once testing is complete, turn off the virtual layer and all testing changes are thrown away. You can even test an application side-by-side with another version of the same application, all without impacting the development machine.

TRIALWARE SUPPORT

Wise Installation Studio is integrated with one of the leading trialware products, PRO-Tector™ from Nalpeiron. PRO-Tector™ electronically generates, tracks and enforces software licenses and protects against unauthorised use by implementing a range of patent-pending product activation and software copy protection options. Choose from full, Try-Before-You-Buy or Try-Before-You-Die support for metered or time-based trials.

The Wise Installation Studio installation includes a link to download a free copy of Nalpeiron PRO-Tector Standard (over $1000 value). The PRO-Tector Professional version offers floating network licensing, leasing and selling software as a service.

INSTALLATIONS FOR MOBILE DEVICES

Applications for mobile devices are increasingly common, and Wise Installation Studio makes installing mobile applications simple. Mobile installation supports installation to storage cards, non-English applications, Pocket PC and Pocket PC/Host PC conduits. Includes support for Windows Mobile 5.0 platform, Windows CE, Pocket PC* 2003 (and older versions), Palm* OS, and the .NET Compact Framework*.

WEB-BASED APPLICATIONS

Move your data-driven Web applications from development to the production environment with a completely seamless, automated process that eliminates time-consuming tasks previously required for configuring Web-based applications.

• Customise the installation to prompt the administrator for variables that configure the application during installation
• Create multiple Web sites from one installation, including new root Web sites and creating and configuring Virtual Directories.
• Install multiple instances of a Web site, such as Web farms, from one installation
• Edit XML files, such as web.config, with Dynamic Content Editor
• Create dialogs that prompt the administrator for SQL connection strings, .MSI properties or other SQL values with the Custom Property Dialog wizard
• Force file reinstallation to install updates on an existing Web application
• Test for multiple launch conditions for IIS 5 and 6

SERVER INSTALLATIONS

Create a fully functional server installation in minutes, including configuring SQL Server. Wise Installation Studio makes it easy to eliminate the tedious tasks associated with server installations.
